Painting night scenes has become a new challenge for me. It all started with the "Night Paint" as part of the Plein Air Competition each year at the Grand Marais Art Colony. It has been really fun to put on a head lamp and attach a small "clip" LED light onto my plein easel, then look at the night sky, observe the moonlight on Lake Superior, and then try to capture the colors and the mood. I'll be adding to this category, so be sure to check back here from time to time to see how this new challenge is shaping up!
